Hi, I’m Emily.
I’ve spent my career in marketing and tech. In 2023, I realized I could use those skills to solve a problem I’ve been dealing with for years: the anxiety of not knowing what to expect when going somewhere new.
Even as someone who grew up in Nebraska and is familiar with the area, I still spent forever researching places online before visiting. What’s the parking situation? What does the interior look like? What am I going to order from the menu? I wanted all of those details upfront, but they were scattered across different sources, or just not available at all.
Eventually I realized I’m not the only one who feels this way. A lot of people wanted that same detailed information, but nobody was creating it. So I decided to do it myself.
What started as me sharing a few local places on social media has since grown into an ever-growing community of tens of thousands of people who want to explore Omaha with more confidence.
Who Omaha Guidebook is for.
Maybe you just want ideas for things to do around town. Maybe you're new to Omaha and don't know where to start. Or maybe the idea of going somewhere new makes you anxious, and you want more details up front to feel comfortable.
A lot of my followers have told me this content has been especially helpful if they experience anxiety, have mobility challenges, have ADHD or autism, or have agoraphobia. The detailed parking info, accessibility notes, and transit options take the guesswork out of going somewhere new.
But honestly? If you're just looking for straightforward info about where to go in Omaha, this is for you. I hope it helps you get out and explore more of the Omaha metro.
How I create content.
I visit every location myself.
When I create content for Omaha Guidebook, I go to the location in person. I don't farm the work out to someone else. I'm there experiencing it myself, filming the footage, noting where to park, asking the important questions, and gathering all the details you'd actually want to know.
I'm selective about partnerships.
I've partnered with hundreds of local businesses since 2023, but I don't say yes to every partnership request. I'm selective to make sure my content resonates with my audience and there's a better ROI for the partnership. Again, it's a win-win for all sides.
I care about supporting local.
Local businesses are the heartbeat of our community. I want to help people find more local places they love, while supporting these businesses at the same time. It's a win-win for everyone.
